The First Age

The First age is called by most "The age of blood". No one truly knows how long this age lasted but some people estimate it lasted over 1000 years. The reason for this being is that this is the age when Astoria began to form. The gods tell of a Woman named The Goddess who with her power alone created the Universe in which we live, and the planet on which we stand and the land on which we live. This woman then created three sons in her likelyness and power, and tasked the three of them with forging the world which she had laid before them. The Eldest Brother Arik, The Middle brother Tharis, and The Youngest Brother Kalous. These three brothers set out on their task to sculpt the world with haste, however it quickly became apparent that Arik and Kalous were not of the same mind set. The Brothers fought day in and day out, as Tharis fought to keep the peace and keep the two brother on task. However the beautiful land that Tharis was solely working to create was quickly turned to a battleground as the two brothers feud turned into a war, and a contest of power.

it was then when Kalous created the first living creature of Astoria. A Black Demon by the name of Rious. With a Creature of power by his side Kalous was quickly overcoming his brother in any feuds the two got in. So in retaliation Arik created the Second creature to grace the lands. The first Celestial named Ceris. A direct counterpart to Kalous' Demon. The brothers than not only grew the races, but also created other races, each in retaliation to the other. Next came Elves, and then orcs; then Humans, and Dwarves. Each set growing weaker and weaker in the arcane arts as the Brothers gave up portions of their power to bring them into being. Seeing the brothers going mad with the creation of Races, and ever wanting to keep the peace, Tharis himself created his own race. A beast so fierce, and powerful, but most importantly impartial that is simply wrecked havoc on both side of the war. The being he created was the Dragon, he then split the Continent of Astoria apart into the vast sea and filled this sea with giants monsters and creatures, and then he filled the land with more terrifing beasts of nature. All in an attempt to stall the brothers. This meant the brother could no longer war in the center of astoria, and the races needed to develop their technology and arcane arts before they could continue, but Tharis's hope was that this delay would cause enough of a cease fire, that once they developed the ability to war once again, the would no longer have fuel for the fire.

The Second Age

It was once the fighting died down, and the two brothers began to sculpt the world that the first age came to a close. With their brother having given up his god-hood to create the life that not inhabits the planets, and no left sculpting the worlds, the two brothers came to an agreement to continue where their brother left off in an attempt not to incur the wraith of their mother. It was during this age the Elder Races began to discover the arcane arts, and began to built towns and cities, and began to draw borders and construct nations. It was also during this age that history began to be written, and language developed. Most people who don't believe in the Elder Gods, such as the brothers, and the Goddess herself, believe the Second Age was the true beginning of time. It was in this age that the world truly began to start shaping its self. And form the world we know before us. The Second Age is known as the "The Age of Construction." As there was not nearly as much blood shed as there had been in the prior age, and this is the age many still believe the world to be in. However, some recognize that the third age has begun.

The Third Age

The Third age began with destruction. Possible signs of things to come. And it's beginnings are so shrouded in Mystery that some people refuse to believe it has even begun. There are also several who refuse to acknowledge it's exists for it plays to the legends of old. And furthermore, these events were as recent as 32 years ago.

The third age began with a crash. Rumors, say it was something akin to a meteor crashing into the center of Syrin, the biggest city in Ekarna at the time. This Crash leveled buildings, and kills hundreds of people who had been unfortunate enough to be in the center of the city at the time. When the dust and the rubble cleared however, there was no rock. There was but a women standing in the midst of the debris, standing perfectly unharmed. She had Raven hair, with piercing white eyes, and a white dress trimmed with ancient looking symbols, but even more strikingly, she had large raven black wings, and when she stood, all eyes where drawn to her, and no one could move a muscle, then she spoke in a low, hushed, melodic voice, but all in the city could hear her as though they were standing next to her. She only spoke a few words, but the words are the same no matter which survivor you ask.

"I see my world has discovered the arcane... Fine, I shall put you all to the test.

Find me by a white tree, and those who do will be handsomely rewarded. Now go my children, and spread this message to the world"

Then it is said, all those the goddess deemed worthy where teleported from from out of the city, and then a huge blast occurred, and the city was left to ruins, as well as most of the surrounding forest was killed, and unable to be healed no matter what magic was used. The news that the goddess was real spread like wild fire, and adventurers set out to explore the world in search of the famed white tree, while others believe the entire story to be a hoax.

And that is where the story of Astoria begins.
